Fishing is our passion and has been for over 30 years.  We are a husband and wife team, both licensed Coast Guard Captains, who love to take folks fishing. We take six passengers so we can concentrate on YOU'   We specialize in Spring  fishing for trophy striped bass on the Chesapeake Bay out of Solomons, Maryland. These stripers (or rockfish as they are called in the Bay) run 28" and up, weighing 15 to 50-some lbs. Each customer is allowed one fish per day.

Chesapeake Bay Charter Boat The Margie D is a 46' custom 20+ knot twin diesel Bay built with 15' beam, designed for your safety and comfort. She has a clean, private head, seating for six at the dinette, plus couch and full galley w/microwave and coffeepot, in the salon which boasts 6'6 headroom. Heat and A/C are available.

The cockpit area has cushioned engine box seating plus stacked chairs. Side curtains give protection from spray and rain. MapTech electronic charts are at the helm with depth finder, radar, VHS radio and GPS.  We fish two-speed Shimano TLD 20's and 30's. and custom rods. Planer boards make for exciting strikes. We like to keep our customers involved.  We let you pull leaders and net the fish (most of the time).  We don't YELL!   We want you to catch fish AND have a good time.

Fishing Solomons Island, Chesapeake Bay & The Florida Keys Later in the season we will be catching smaller rockfish and some croaker and spot will move in.  The limits change from 1 striper to two per day and these are caught trolling, live-baiting or chumming,  Some flounder, bluefish and mackerel round out the summer fishing.

Later in the fall, the big stripers start to move back into the Bay.  We may get a trip or two in BUT then we move to Marathon in the Florida Keys (about 50 miles from Key West) where we target snapper, grouper and Spanish mackerel on light tackle with a 28' Scout.  We're in the Keys for the winter til April when we head to Maryland for the opening of the Trophy rockfish season in mid-April.  Call our cell to book at either location: 443-532-0930. or e-mail us at margied01@comcast.net.
